What’s One Prep You Wish You’d Started Sooner?

Really wish I’d started canning and preserving food years before I actually did. Looking back, I relied too much on store-bought goods and didn’t realize how quickly shelves could empty. Learning to water bath and pressure can changed everything for my pantry security. What’s the one prep you regret not getting a jump on sooner? Always interested to hear what others discovered a little late in the game.

Canning really is a game changer—funny how something so old-fashioned can feel so empowering today! For me, it’s learning how to consistently rotate and use my food storage. I started stockpiling shelf-stable foods pretty early, but I didn’t pay enough attention to actually using what I had. There’s a bit of an art to keeping things fresh and avoiding waste, and I wish I’d established a better system from the get-go.

Pressure canning especially intimidated me at first,
