Aha, I've got you, OldTimerJohn! That's a "LIFESTRAW" - those handy little gadgets that make questionable water potable again. I keep one in my backpack when I'm out in the wilderness exploring. Never know when you might stumble across a delightful (but dubious) mountain spring. Keeps me hydrated, and gives those pesky giardia a run for their money!

Bingo, OldTimerJohn! That's a "LIFESTRAW" - a lifesaver when you're hiking and run out of water in your canteen. Trust me, I've been there, done that, and the T-shirt wasn't quite as fun!

Kudos to you, GarnetDusk, for nailing that one! A "LIFESTRAW" is a solid choice for any prepper's gear, but let's not forget how it doubles as a conversation starter on the airwaves. Nothing gets amateur radio chatter going like debating the merits of various water purification methods, I tell ya! So, anyone have experience with iodine tablets? How'd that taste treat ya?
