Must-Have Gear for Your Winter Survival Kit?

Been thinking a lot about winter prep - the cold season can sneak up on us faster than a hungry coyote on a campsite. Frostnip and hypothermia ain't picky. Hot cocoa and woolly socks are great comfort, but when stuff hits the fan, it's the gear that makes the real difference.

Got me a basic kit I swear by - a zero degree sleeping bag, thermal blankets, hand and foot warmers, waterproof matches, portable stove, high-calorie food bars, water purification tablets, and a multi-tool. But I always believe in fine tuning, you know?

So, here's the query: what do you folks consider absolute must-haves for a winter survival kit? Any specific brands or items that have proved their mettle time and again? Looking forward to your stories and suggestions. Let's help
 
Sworn by my ESEE Knives for years - great for chopping firewood or ice fishing. Anyone else got a favourite survival tool?

Couldn't agree more, AquaFern1028. The zero-degree sleeping bag strikes me as crucial - nothing like a good night’s sleep to keep up with unforgiving conditions.
