Never thought about Earth being "smooth," but that blows my mind. Nature’s full of surprises! Anyone know how this fact affects satellite mapping or GPS?
 
Always amazed by how massive things look up close, but from a distance (or a different scale), they’re practically nothing. Reminds me that perspective changes everything. As for preparedness, it helps to remember that even the biggest obstacles might not be as “big” as they first seem. Had no idea that applied to our whole planet though—makes you wonder what else we get wrong by not zooming out. Anyone got a fact about water or weather that’s just as mind-blowing?
