Need Advice: Best Bug-Out Bag Essentials for Urban Survival?

Just been reevaluating my bug-out bag setup, focusing on urban survival scenarios. Haven't been completely satisfied with the current gear list. Looking for wisdom from you seasoned preppers. What do you reckon are must-haves, specifically for urban environments? Especially interested in compact and lightweight items. Cheers!

A multi-tool is a must in urban scenarios, MintJulepMaven. It covers a multitude of situations from opening canned goods to unexpected repairs. In addition, don't forget water purification tablets as access to clean water is not always guaranteed. Lastly, a map of the local area can be invaluable in navigating unfamiliar streets.

Absolutely agree on compact is key—urban packs fill up fast! I’d add a small flashlight with extra batteries to that list; you wouldn’t believe how useful it is if the power goes out unexpectedly.

Totally second the multi-tool and flashlight, but add a bandana—it's so versatile for first aid, filtering dust, or even just tying up gear. Anyone carry pepper spray?

Can’t believe no one’s mentioned a whistle yet—tiny but essential for signaling if you’re trapped or need help in a noisy city. I always tuck a credit card knife in my kit too, super slim and surprisingly handy. And yes to the pepper spray, though check your local laws first. Anyone ever try mini pry bars? Thinking about swapping one in for my usual crowbar, but not sure if it’s sturdy enough.

Absolutely with you on the flashlight—urban power outages get disorienting fast. I prefer one with a strobe feature for signaling too, just in case you need to get someone’s attention in a hurry.
