You’ve got me curious, OldTimerJohn! I always tell my grandkids the “rule of threes” (air, shelter, water, food), but one of them tried to test how long he could go without snacks… lasted maybe an hour. As a bonus tip, I keep a little packet of herbal tea in my kit—if you’re stuck somewhere, at least you can pretend you’re at a fancy picnic instead of in survival mode. Anyone else have an oddball

Gotta go with A for the “rule of threes”—though, honestly, I can barely make it three minutes without my glasses, let alone air! Love the herbal tea idea, ChrysanthiDream. My “bonus tip” is chocolate—maybe not essential for survival, but it sure does wonders for morale. Ever tried to barter with snacks when camping with kids? That’s true wilderness negotiation right there.
