I think a lot of folks overlook basic observation skills—just really paying attention to small changes around you, in the garden or elsewhere. It’s easy to get caught up in gear and big projects, but noticing which plants are thriving or when animals alter their patterns can make a big difference. Not the flashiest skill, but it's saved me plenty
 
Most folks underestimate patience—being able to wait things out calmly can prevent a ton of mistakes. Anyone else find that true, or am I just getting old?
 
Being able to adapt on the fly—when plans go sideways, quick thinking matters more than any gear. Ever had a situation where improvising made all the difference?
 
Can't believe nobody's mentioned bartering—knowing what to trade and when has kept me out of more scrapes than any tool in my shed. Anyone else stash trade goods?
