If I could only keep one prep item, it would be a reliable water filtration system. After living through a couple of hurricane aftermaths, I realized how quickly clean water can disappear and how risky it is to rely on bottled water alone. If I had to pick just one, it’d be my portable solar generator. Power keeps me sane, whether it’s running a fridge for meds or charging up lights and my keyboard. The sun’s not gonna run out anytime soon, and it’s way quieter than any gas generator out there. Anybody here actually tried their solar gear during a real outage? Curious how it held up.
 
I’ve used my Jackery during a three-day blackout—worked great for basics, but recharging was slow on cloudy days. How much juice can yours actually hold?
 
Water filtration’s top of my list too. Without water, nothing else matters much. I keep several filters and also a stash of calcium hypochlorite for backup purification—takes up almost no space and lasts forever. Anyone ever tried distilling water on
