Cast iron over a wood fire has always been reliable for me, especially with a simple rocket stove setup—uses less wood and gives good heat control. I’ve dabbled with solar ovens too, but they’re a bit weather-dependent. For those
 
I’m with you on cast iron over a wood fire—can’t beat its durability. I like using a Dutch oven right in the coals for stews or bread, but I’ve noticed windy days can mess with temperature a lot. Solar ovens are neat for slow-cooking beans or veggies, but I find myself only pulling it out in summer. Has anyone had luck using a small propane setup for canning?
