A Glance at the Latest Innovations from the Annual Tech Show

The annual tech event was buzzing with excitement as three of the leading tech companies showcased their breakthroughs in chip technology and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. The audience was particularly captivated by the display of Star Wars and small robotic companions.

Every year, this event offers a platform for both small and large companies to parade their upcoming products. As expected, AI was a focal point, with tech companies hunting for AI products to draw in customers.

AI Trained In Virtual Environment

The term "physical AI" created a stir. This concept is all about training AI models in a virtual setting using computer-generated, "synthetic" data, before deploying them as physical machines once they've achieved their purpose.

A prominent tech company's CEO showcased Cosmos, an AI model trained on huge datasets capable of simulating environments governed by real physics. In addition, the company announced the production of its next-generation AI superchip platform and a new partnership with a global industrial manufacturing company. However, the audience was spellbound when the CEO brought two small, chirping robots on stage.

Revived Interest in AI Processors

Another tech company announced a new series of its renowned AI processors. The company is expanding its presence in the AI-powered personal computers domain. For the gaming enthusiasts, the company also unveiled the latest version of its gaming-focused processor.

Meanwhile, a third major tech company announced its new AI chip for laptops and plans to launch a new platform to cater to the growing market for handheld video gaming machines.

After missing out on the shift to mobile computing, this tech company, which had fueled the personal computer boom, suffered a setback. However, the recent investment by the federal officials to secure a 10% stake in the company revived its fortunes, making the government one of its biggest shareholders. This investment was an attempt to support U.S. technology and domestic manufacturing.

Uber's Luxurious Robotaxi

Uber, in collaboration with a luxury electric vehicle manufacturer and a vehicle tech company, unveiled an autonomous vehicle with a unique in-cabin experience at the tech event. Dubbed as the most luxurious robotaxi, it comes with cameras, sensors, and radars that provide 360-degree perception. Inside, riders can customize everything from climate and seat heating to music, while real-time visuals display the vehicle's path.

On-road testing began last month in San Francisco, marking a significant advancement towards the companies' planned launch before the year ends.

New Partnership Between Star Wars and Lego

Star Wars fandom for Lego was taken to new heights when Lucasfilm's chief creative officer introduced X-Wing pilots, Chewbacca, R2D2, and C-3PO. Lego announced its Lego Smart Play platform that introduces new smart bricks, tags, and special minifigures. These new bricks have sensors that enable them to respond to light and distance.

With the newly announced partnership with Star Wars, fans can now create their own interactive space battles and light-saber duels.

LG's Home Assistant Robot

A Korean tech giant previewed its humanoid robot designed to perform household tasks such as folding laundry and fetching food. Of all the robots displayed at the tech event, LG's stood out for promising to bring a service robot into homes.

Candy That Plays Music

A candy that plays music while you eat was showcased at the tech event. The candy uses "bone induction technology," allowing you to hear songs as you lick or bite it at the back of your mouth. These musical lollipops will be available for purchase after the tech event on the company's website.

Hyundai's Humanoid Robot

A Hyundai-owned company demonstrated its humanoid robot for the first time at the tech event, signaling a competition to create robots that resemble humans and perform human tasks. The company announced that a version of the robot that will help assemble cars is already in production and will be deployed at Hyundai's electric vehicle manufacturing facility.

Delta's Entertainment in the Skies

Delta Air Lines announced a new partnership with Sphere Entertainment Co. to offer premium experiences at the Sphere venue, including a Delta SKY360° Club lounge. Delta branding will also be featured on the Sphere's massive exterior LED screen. Delta promises more exclusive experiences for SkyMiles members in the coming years.
