Best Food Storage Methods for Small Apartments?

Space is always at a premium in small apartments, especially when it comes to storing enough food to feel prepared. I’ve been experimenting with different methods and containers, and would love to hear what’s been working (or not) for others in similar situations. My biggest issues are moisture, pests, and figuring out how to keep everything organized so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

Mylar bags are great for long-term storage, but I find they can get a bit unwieldy if you have limited closet space. For smaller batches, I like using glass jars with tight lids; they’re easy to see through and keep pests out well. Moisture’s a real headache in apartments—do you use silica packets or something similar in your mylar bags? Keeping things organized is always a challenge; I started labeling by date and category, then stacking in crates under the bed. It’s definitely a work in progress!
