Best Foods to Stockpile for Long-Term Emergencies?

Been reviewing my food storage plan and wanted to get some input on what others here consider the *best* foods to stockpile for long-term scenarios (think multi-month grid down events). I'm prioritizing shelf life, calorie density, and minimal prep needs (since fuel might be scarce). At this point, rice, beans, oats, powdered milk, and canned meats are my basics. Also have some freeze-dried meals, but they get expensive fast.

Has anyone found alternatives or additions that really pull their weight over time? I’ve looked into wheat berries, but grinding them without power seems like a hassle unless you’ve got a decent hand mill. How’s everyone approaching the balance between nutrition

Dehydrated veggies and fruits have been lifesavers in my stash—super light, easy to rehydrate, and good for variety. Hard cheeses waxed and stored cool can go months, sometimes longer. Peanut butter or nut butters (if you can rotate ‘em) pack a ton of calories in a small space. I’m also big on bouillon cubes for flavor and a little comfort, even if you just have hot water. Have you had any luck storing whole eggs, or do you stick with powdered?
