Best Way to Store Water Long-Term—What Actually Works?
Been reviewing my water storage setup again and finding conflicting advice on the best containers and additives for long-term storage. Some swear by food-grade barrels with a bit of unscented bleach, others say it’s unnecessary if you fill them carefully and keep them dark and cool. I’ve even seen folks using glass, which seems risky unless you never plan to move it.
What’s actually stood the test of time for you all? I’m trying to store enough for 6+ months in a basement that stays cool year-round, but I’ve had issues with plastic barrels leaching a bit of taste after a year or two, even the so-called “better” ones
