Best Ways to Purify Water Off-Grid?
After testing a few methods over the years—boiling, iodine, homemade biofilters—I’m still not totally settled on what’s best long-term for off-grid water purification. Berkey filters work well but depend on replacing elements eventually, and boiling isn’t always practical if fuel is scarce. Anyone have experience with solar stills or ceramic filters in real-world situations? Really looking for something sustainable that holds up without needing constant replacement parts. Curious what’s actually worked (or failed) for folks when it comes to keeping water safe, especially if supply chains break down.
