A beloved country music figure's sibling has taken to social media to clarify her request for prayers, stating that she didn't mean to cause any worry. She had recently urged fans to offer their prayers for her sister, a popular country singer.
The 79-year-old singer had to cancel her appearance at a popular event due to a kidney stone issue that's been giving her a fair bit of trouble. She's also postponed a highly-anticipated residency in Las Vegas. In light of these health complications, her sister shared that the singer hasn't been at her best and asked for prayers from fans.
Clearing the Air
In a recent Facebook post, the sister made an effort to clear up any misunderstandings. "I didn't mean to worry anyone or make things seem more serious than they are by asking for prayers for my sister," she said.
"She's not been feeling too good, and I just wanted to ask for prayers because I believe in their healing power so much. It was simply a younger sister requesting prayers for her elder sister," she continued.
She expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support, saying, "Thank you all for supporting her. Your love truly makes a difference."
Addressing Concerns
A representative for the singer also shared that she will be addressing everyone's concerns in a social media post soon.
The singer has decided to postpone her concerts scheduled for December, explaining to fans that she needs to undergo "a few procedures" to address her ongoing health issues.
Her sister had earlier shared that she had spent the night praying for her, as she had not been feeling well. But she ended her message on a positive note.

"She's strong, she's loved, and with all the prayers being offered for her, I know in my heart she's going to be just fine," she wrote. "Godspeed, my sissy. We all love you!"
The singer was scheduled to perform six shows at a famous venue in December. However, she has postponed the performances until September of next year, explaining that she needs to undergo "a few procedures" to address her health issues.
Earlier this year, the singer suffered a personal loss when her husband of nearly six decades passed away. She later released a new song, dedicating it to his memory.
The singer is acclaimed for her numerous country crossover hits, which have endeared her to fans all over the world. Her Las Vegas performances would have marked her first return to the Strip since the 1990s, when she performed with her duet partner.
