City life often means minimal space, but it doesn't have to hinder you from having a well-stocked emergency stash. Vertical storage solutions can be a game changer. For example, shelving units and stackable containers take up minimal floor space yet provide ample room for supplies. Rotate your stockpile to keep it fresh and consider splitting items like food, water, and medical supplies across different rooms or even in your vehicle.

Community involvement is crucial in urban settings. In my experience, a shared emergency plan and resources can be more effective than isolated prepping. Organize neighbourhood meetings to discuss emergency procedures, allocate roles, and identify communal resources. These can be things like power generators, tools, or shelters. Both the elderly and the young can play a part in these plans, making it a truly communal effort.

With regards to technology, it can be priceless during an emergency. Apps for weather updates, locating emergency services, and communication with group members can be hugely beneficial. However, it's also important to have analog alternatives because power outages can render technology useless.
