Former Talent Show Participant Faces Strict Conditions Post-Child Porn Conviction
A previous participant in a popular talent show, known for an unforgettable on-screen kiss with a famous pop singer, has been handed a 25-year prison sentence following his conviction for child pornography. His post-release conditions, recently made public, are as mind-boggling as they are stringent.
Details from legal documents indicate that after he serves 15 years of his sentence, the remaining 10 years will be suspended but come with a series of rigorous requirements. One of these is a penile plethysmograph test, a procedure that monitors arousal levels when exposed to various types of visual content, ranging from family-friendly to explicit.
Tough Post-Release Measures
In addition to participating in a sex offender program, he will also have to undergo the Abel Screen test. This assessment measures how long his gaze lingers on images of children compared to adults.
Moreover, he is prohibited from viewing pornography, visiting strip clubs, adult bookstores, massage parlors, or adult cinemas. He is also not allowed to call adult telephone services, or even offer a ride to a hitchhiker.
His attire is also under scrutiny. He is required to maintain a proper appearance, wearing suitable clothing and underwear at all times. Regular blood tests will also be a part of his life to check for sexually transmitted diseases, making his post-release conditions some of the most stringent ever recorded.
Arrest and Conviction
The former talent show participant was arrested after a specialized unit that focuses on sexual predators and digital evidence recovery received a tip-off suggesting he was in possession of child sexual abuse material.
After obtaining a warrant, law enforcement officials discovered over 700 images and videos of sexual abuse involving minors on his smartphone. He entered a guilty plea to the charge of possessing child pornography and was subsequently sentenced to 25 years -- 15 years to be served in custody and 10 years suspended.
A Controversial Past
