Discovery of Suspected Remains of Missing Woman in Philadelphia

What is suspected to be the remains of a 23-year-old woman, Kada Scott, who had been reported missing for a fortnight, has been discovered in a shallow grave within the premises of an abandoned school. The Philadelphia law enforcement made this known in a recent statement.

Forensic experts from the medical examiner's office are currently making efforts to verify the identity of the discovered remains and ascertain the cause of death.

Police officers, while searching the property, found a shallow grave from which human remains were retrieved. It's believed that these remains could belong to Kada Scott. This news is absolutely heart-wrenching, and our thoughts are with Kada’s family and friends during this incredibly challenging time. The Philadelphia law enforcement pledged to relentlessly seek the truth and ensure justice prevails.

The Discovery of the Remains

The remains were stumbled upon in a densely vegetated area, following an anonymous tip-off that was highly specific. Police officers embarked on a search in the area around 10 a.m. and were able to locate the remains. The law enforcement has since been in touch with Scott's family after the discovery.

Cherelle L. Parker, the Mayor of Philadelphia, extended her sympathies to the grieving family, pledging the city's support during this time of unthinkable pain and chaos. She expressed her prayers for divine peace to comfort the family in these trying times, and assured them of continuous support and solidarity from the city.

Location of the Remains

The remains were found on Saturday in a thickly forested area behind Ada H. Lewis Middle School, a deserted school near Awbury Arboretum in Germantown. This location had been at the heart of a search conducted earlier in the week.

While searching the school grounds on Wednesday, items believed to belong to Scott, such as a cell phone case, an iPad case, glasses, and a card with her name, were found. These items are now under forensic examination.

The Disappearance of Kada Scott

Scott was last seen by her mother on a day she was leaving for work at a nearby nursing home. A 21-year-old, Keon King, has been charged with kidnapping, in connection with Scott's disappearance.

On the day of her disappearance, Scott arrived at work but left before her shift ended. The exact time of her departure remains unclear but her shift typically ran from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Her disappearance was reported to the police the following day. The law enforcement expressed heightened concern over her disappearance due to disturbing phone calls she had been receiving. Scott had confided in her family and friends that she was being harassed by an unknown individual over the phone.

Evidence suggests Scott was communicating with an individual - identified as King - and met with him shortly after leaving work on the day of her disappearance.

Police had earlier sought the public's assistance in locating a 1999 metallic-gold Toyota Camry, believed to be connected to Scott's disappearance. The vehicle was later found in an apartment lot.

Two crucial tip-offs were received by the police. The first led them to an elementary school where valuable evidence was found. The second tip-off led them to the vehicle associated with Scott's disappearance.

Kevin Scott, the father of the missing woman, remains hopeful, stating that "she's gonna be with us as soon as possible." He expressed that the situation has been extremely challenging but maintains faith that she is okay and will be found soon.
