This shocking video lets you see the scary truth of what happens inside an electric chair

This Video Shows What Really Happens When Someone Gets the Electric Chair

A YouTube video has shown how the electric chair really works. Most people hope they never need to know about execution methods. But in some places, people have had to choose how they will die. This part will explain what happens to people who are put in the electric chair.

How the Electric Chair Works

The first electric chair was made in 1888. It was in New York. People thought it was kinder than hanging. Since 1976, 163 people have died by electric chair in the United States, according to Death Penalty Information.

Some states allow the electric chair. But others say it is a “cruel and unusual punishment.” They do not allow it because they think it is too harsh.

A YouTuber named Zack D Films made a video to show how the electric chair works. The video is not like his others about snakes or shrunken heads. This time, he explains what really happens during an electric chair execution.

He says: "If you're strapped into an electric chair, saline soaked sponges are placed underneath electrodes all over your skin." This means wet sponges go under the metal pieces that touch your body. The sponges help the electricity move quickly through the body.

When the chair is turned on, a strong electric current goes through the person. The electricity makes the muscles tighten very hard. The heart starts to beat in a strange way. Soon, the heart stops working.

Before the electricity starts, the person’s hair is usually shaved. The person is tied to the chair with belts. The belts go across the chest, groin, legs, and arms.

A metal cap shaped like a skull is put on the person’s head. It is placed over a wet sponge. The sponge must be just the right amount of wet. If it is too wet, the electricity might not work right. If it is too dry, the electricity might not go through well.

Another electrode is put on the person’s leg. This spot is shaved, too. The electrode has jelly on it to help the electric current.

The person is usually blindfolded. The people doing the execution leave the room. They go to another room to turn on the electricity.

The electric current is very strong. It is between 500 and 2,000 volts. It stays on for about 30 seconds. Then the power is turned off. The person's body relaxes. Doctors check if the heart is still beating. They wait a few seconds for the body to cool down.

If the heart is still beating, they repeat the steps. They keep going until the person is dead.

Afterward, the person’s hands might grab the chair tightly. Their arms and legs can move a lot. Sometimes, these movements cause broken bones. The tissue can swell up. Sometimes, the person’s body lets go of waste.

What Happens To Your Body With Smoking

You may know that smoking is bad for your lungs. But do you know what it does to your brain? A new study says one cigarette can take minutes off your life. But there is even more to it.

A group called Animated Biomedical made a 3D video. It shows what smoking and nicotine do to your body and brain. They put the video on YouTube.

They say: "It takes around 10 seconds for the nicotine to reach your brain. This surge of nicotine is so satisfying that you immediately feel better."

Soon, your body gets used to this good feeling. You want it all the time. This is called addiction. "You feel good when your nicotine levels are high and bad when they're low. This up and down effect goes on all day which is why it can be difficult to give up."

Nicotine makes your brain feel pleasure. It turns on signals in your brain called dopamine. You can get used to it and need more and more.

Many people talk about their smoking experiences online. One YouTube user said: "Thank God. I stop smoking cigarette two month know." Another said: "I have never smoked and I refuse to try it."

A third person told their story: "Please never touch one, my personal experience I bought a pac of cigarettes out of curiosity and decided to smoke 1 cigarette a day, after smoking just one cigarette for a couple of days I started have this strong craving to smoke another, it turned to two a day, when that pack cigarette was over I wanted to get another and a another soon I was smoking 3 a day and kept craving more, I developed an addiction so finally one day I decided to stop, it was the worst experience ever the withdrawal symptoms was so bad I wasn’t able to sleep although I was so tired and exhausted [...] It was one of the worst experiences of my life. It was absolute hell for almost two months."

Healthline says you can have side effects when you stop smoking. These include anxiety, being grumpy, and wanting nicotine very badly. Smoking changes your brain and makes you need nicotine.

Doctors can help you quit. There are many steps you can take:
- Talk to your doctor
- Try nicotine patches or gum
- Get support from a counselor
- Learn ways to relax
- Spend time with family and friends
- Exercise
- Get enough sleep

These steps can help you stop smoking for good.

How Lip Fillers Work

Many people get lip fillers these days. Some people like them, and some do not. A video on YouTube shows exactly how lip fillers are done. Some people felt uneasy after watching it.

The video was made by Zack D Films. It shows a needle putting filler into the lips. The filler is a type of acid called hyaluronic acid. When it is put in the lips, the lips get bigger.

The video is short, but the real procedure can take up to two hours. The Cleveland Clinic says there are several steps.

First, the person’s lips are numbed with medicine. This takes about 15 to 30 minutes. Then, the doctor uses a needle to put the filler in the lips. The person may feel a pinch. Sometimes their eyes water.

The whole procedure can last up to two hours. About 1 milliliter of filler is used. The needle goes in about 2.5 millimeters deep. Sometimes, the doctor puts ice on the lips to help stop swelling and bruises.

Many people have had this done. But some people felt nervous after seeing the video. One person commented: "Imagine how painful that would be." Another said: "I can't be the only one who got jumpscared by that needle in the FIRST second. Have mercy Zack, lol."

On Twitter, someone wrote: "Painful to watch."

Some people get lip fillers to make their lips look like they did when they were younger. Others want their lips to look even or to smooth out wrinkles.

In the United States, you must be at least 21 years old to get lip fillers. You also have to talk to a doctor first.

Lip fillers usually last between 12 and 18 months. After that, they start to go away.

Hot Springs Danger at Yellowstone

Warning: This part talks about a sad event.

A man named Colin Scott fell into a hot spring at Yellowstone National Park in 2016. He was 23 years old. He was walking with his sister, Sable. They left the boardwalk and were near Norris Geyser Basin.

Colin slipped and fell into a hot spring. Sable could not call for help because there was no cell service. She ran to a museum to get help. When she came back, only Colin’s chest and hands could be seen above the water.

The next day, his body was gone. A park ranger, Phil Strehle, wrote: "Due to the report of the individual not previously visible, a lack of movement, suspected extreme temperatures, and indications of several thermal burns, the subject was determined to be deceased."

His body was not found because the hot spring was too dangerous to enter. The water was very hot and had acid in it. The heat and acid melted his body. Only his wallet and shoes were left.

Zack D Films made a video show what may have happened. The video says: "The hot water caused severe burns as soon as he fell in but the water also contains acid which immediately began to eat away at his skin." After only five minutes, the heat could cause him to go into shock.

Yellowstone’s website says: "Hot springs have injured or killed more people in Yellowstone than any other natural feature."

The park superintendent, Dan Wenk, said: "We extend our sympathy to the Scott family. This tragic event must remind all of us to follow the regulations and stay on boardwalks when visiting Yellowstone’s geyser basins."

A Real Crime Caught on Camera

In 2017, a woman named Dalia Dippolito was found guilty of trying to hire someone to kill her husband. She thought she was hiring a hitman, but he was really an undercover police officer.

Dalia and her husband, Michael Dippolito, had only been married a few months. She hired the “hitman” in 2009. She wanted him to make Michael’s death look like a burglary.

When Dalia came home, she saw what she thought was a crime scene. A police officer told her there had been a “disturbance” and that her husband had been killed. She started crying and shaking. She asked to see her husband.

But Michael was not dead. He was alive and had just been taken away by the police.

There was another video, too. It showed Dalia talking to the undercover officer. She said she was “5,000 percent sure” she wanted Michael dead. She agreed to pay $7,000 for the job.

The judge, Glenn Kelley, said: "This particular crime was committed not in an unsophisticated way, but in a sophisticated way in a calculated fashion. There was a plan put in place by Dalia Dippolito to kill Mike Dippolito."

People thought Dalia wanted Michael dead so she could get his money and savings.

Dalia said she never wanted Michael dead. She said she knew she was being recorded. She also said she and Michael wanted to be on a reality TV show. Michael said this was not true.

At first, Dalia was given 20 years in prison. The judge called her plan “pure evil.” She had a second trial in 2016. This time, she said the police did something wrong because they made the scene for the TV show “COPS.” But the police said: “'COPS' filming with the Boynton Beach Police Department had nothing to do with this investigation. It was just a coincidence as far as timing was concerned. The men and women of the Boynton Beach Police Department did an incredible job on this case, and Mike Dippolito is alive and well today because of it."

The second trial ended with no decision. But in 2017, Dalia was found guilty again. She was sentenced to 16 years in prison. She tried to appeal to the Florida Supreme Court in 2019, but it was not accepted.

Dalia Dippolito is expected to stay in prison until 2032.
