What’s In Your 72-Hour Bug Out Bag?
I’ve been updating my 72-hour bug out bag and would love to hear what others are prioritizing these days. I’m especially interested in how folks balance traditional tools (like a good sturdy knife or fire-starting kit) with newer tech (compact solar chargers, water filtration straws, etc.).
For example, I still won’t leave out a small sewing kit and some basic foraging guides—paper ones, in case batteries die. My bag’s got the usual: water, high-calorie snacks, first aid, poncho, and a decent headlamp. I’m also reconsidering weight vs. utility, as it gets tough to carry more than 20 lbs for long, especially over rough ground.
Do you keep wild edibles guides or any plant identification references? And
