What’s One Prep You Regret Not Doing Sooner?
Getting serious about rainwater harvesting is one prep I truly regret not doing years earlier. I always figured my little herb garden and a couple of barrels would be plenty, but last summer’s drought opened my eyes. When the well ran low and restrictions hit, I realized how much water I really needed, not just for plants but cleaning, flushing, even my herbal tinctures. Setting up a real system with filtration, storage, and diversion took some work, but it’s made a world of difference.
Curious what others wish they'd started sooner? Was it off-grid power, food storage, security upgrades, or something less obvious? Any surprises that changed your priorities the way drought changed mine? I keep thinking about all the wasted years counting on the tap to always work. Would love to hear your experience and what finally pushed you to act. Maybe it'll help someone else not make the same mistake.
