What’s One Prep You Wish You’d Started Sooner?
Wish I’d started rainwater collection sooner. I used to think my well would always be reliable, but a few dry summers and a surprise power outage changed my mind fast. Setting up basic barrels at the gutters wasn’t difficult, but figuring out how to filter and store enough for actual long-term use took some serious trial and error (especially keeping the mosquitoes out—learned that lesson the hard way).
Now I’ve got a system for irrigation and a few food-safe storage tanks for emergencies. If I’d gotten serious about it earlier, I would’ve been a lot more comfortable during last year’s drought.
Curious what others wish they’d done sooner. Was it a skill you learned later, or a particular piece of gear? Anyone else
