What’s One Prep You Wish You’d Started Sooner?
Looking back, I really wish I’d started seed saving and heirloom gardening a lot earlier. It’s one thing to have a stash of canned goods, but building up a truly sustainable source of food takes years to establish. Some of the older varieties have better resilience and nutrition, but they take a bit of learning to grow and save properly. I’m still learning how to store seeds so they keep their viability long-term.
It’s surprising how fast seed companies can run out during disruptions—2020 proved that. Homegrown vegetables are a big morale booster during tough times, too. Does anyone else regret not starting a food-producing garden or seed library sooner? Or is there another skill or supply you wish you’d focused on earlier in your prepping journey? I’d love to hear what others have realized with experience.
