What’s the Most Overlooked Prep in Your Opinion?

Seems like everyone’s got food, water, and ammo stockpiled, but personal hygiene and sanitation supplies barely get a mention. I’ve seen a lot of folks underestimate how quickly things like soap, trash bags, feminine products, or even basic tooth care

Absolutely agree—hygiene gets pushed way down the list when folks talk prepping. I’ve seen people with closets full of canned beans but nothing for handling trash, no plan for dealing with dirty clothes, or no extra bottles of bleach. It doesn’t take long for things to get nasty without a way to keep clean, and illness spreads fast. One thing I don’t see mentioned much is having enough clean water

People forget how fast morale drops when you can’t get clean or deal with smells—baby wipes and baking soda are musts for me. Anyone have tips for washing clothes without power?

Totally, TeaTimeTalisman—stuff like soap and trash bags always runs out faster than you expect. I’d add to that: folks overlook floss big time, and dental issues become a real pain if you can’t take care of them.

Agree with all this—dental care is one that slips past people until it’s too late. Just one toothache makes everything miserable fast, so I stash extra toothpaste, floss, and even some clove oil for emergencies. Trash bags are super useful too, not just for garbage but keeping stuff dry or as makeshift toilets. Anyone have a favorite
