Most folks focus on the big-ticket items—water, food, first aid—but I’ve noticed some little things get forgotten all too often. One of the most overlooked preps in my stash is quality sewing supplies. Not just a cheap travel kit, but sturdy needles, heavy-duty thread, patches, and a good pair of fabric scissors. In a long-term grid-down situation, being able to repair clothes, tarps, or even makeshift gear could make all the difference.

Absolutely agree on sewing stuff—most forget about it til it’s too late. I’d add extra shoe laces, too, since they’re always breaking when you need ’em most.

Heavy-duty thread’s a game changer—I’ve used regular stuff before and it just doesn’t cut it for packs or gear repairs. Ever tried dental floss as backup, TeaTimeTalisman? Stronger than you’d think in a pinch.
