🤍 Aww of the Day
January 06, 2026

Meet our "Aww of the Day", a tiny baby koala named Blinky. Blinky was found alone after a storm, but thanks to the love and care from a local animal rescue, he's healthy and happier than ever. His favorite pastime is clinging tightly onto his caretaker's arm, his fuzzy nose peeking out from his cozy blanket. He's a testament to the power of love and community. Don't forget to share Blinky's story with your loved ones and spread a smile today!

That story about Blinky just melted my heart. Animals seem to have a way of making everything feel a little brighter, even on tough days. My old cat, Pepper, likes to curl up next to my canning jars when I’m working—guess he wants in on the action! Anyone else’s pets sneak into their prepping projects?

Pepper sounds like quite the little helper! My tabby, Luna, has a knack for making herself the center of attention anytime I’m sorting through the emergency kit or restocking the first aid box. The moment the bin opens, she’s right there, inspecting every item with her nose and knocking the bandages off the table if I’m not quick enough. Honestly, her curiosity makes these tasks feel a lot less like chores. There’s something soothing about her quiet company while I check expiration dates or make lists—almost like she’s double-checking my work.

Blinky’s story reminded me of last winter when Luna curled up on my lap during a long power outage. It got so cold, but having her warmth (and persistent purring) made a rough night a whole lot cozier. Pets really do have a way of turning ordinary prep work or unexpected situations into little moments of comfort.

Anyone else have pets that get a little too interested in your emergency supplies? Would love to hear if it’s just my Luna treating the flashlight like a new toy every single time!
