Lugging around a comprehensive survival kit in the backcountry isn't always feasible, am I right? This got me pondering, if you had to pick just one tool for wilderness survival, what would it be? Beyond the trusty knife, I'm talking about.
For me, it's a toss-up between a firestarter and a water purifier. I know you're thinking, why not a multitool? Frankly, I've seen enough rusted 'stainless steel' tools to know they don't always hold up. Plus, the heavy reliance on fine motor skills can be a drawback in high-stress situations or cold weather.
