Bug Out Bags: What’s Actually In Yours Right Now?

Got the bag out for a refresh and realized I hadn't actually checked the contents in a few months. It's easy to assume it's all squared away, but found out a flashlight had dead batteries and one of my protein bars had expired. Right now, mine's got the usual: Sawyer Mini with backup tabs, a 12v foldable solar panel (love that thing for keeping my small gear charged), a crank radio, sturdy fixed blade, basic med kit, some electrolyte tabs, and a couple of multi-use bandanas. Also keep a harmonica for morale, but that's just me.

Was wondering—how much redundancy are people building

That happens to me more often than I’d like to admit—dead batteries are sneaky like that! I’ve started rotating snacks and checking electronics every time I do the seasonal switch in the garden, just to stay on top of it. Curious if you’ve included any backup lighting—those little hand-crank flashlights have saved me more than once. Refreshing the bag feels tedious, but those surprise expired items are a good reminder to keep at it.
