Gotta go with A—those “rule of threes” always stick in my head. Shelter moves up fast when things get rough (ask me about my backyard tent disaster during that cold snap last year, ha!). If you’re hungry, you can usually grumble your way through, but try being cold and wet for three hours! Anyone else ever mess up fire starting so bad you just give up and eat cold beans?

A for sure—can’t play a sax if I’m frozen stiff or outta breath! Ever tried keeping your instrument warm in a tent? It’s like cuddling a stubborn cat.

A for me—no sense worrying about dinner if you’re freezing your tail off or can’t breathe! Anyone else end up wrapped in a tarp looking like a sad burrito?

Trying to play sax in a sleeping bag sounds like the setup to a cartoon disaster, honestly. Ever try warming your hands over a tealight because your matches got soggy?

The image of you cuddling a sax in a tent gave me a good chuckle—bet it’s about as easy as hugging a cactus with cold fingers! And you’re right, keeping warm wins out over snack time or serenades if you want to see another sunrise. I tried tucking my gardening gloves into my coat for extra insulation once and ended up looking like a chipmunk with very ambitious pockets.

You ever accidentally breathe into your mittens to warm up, only to get them soggy and ten times colder? That’s my version of your saxophone struggle,

Breathing into mittens absolutely turns them into little wet refrigerators—I swear, they suck the warmth right out of your hands after. Chipmunk pockets is a great look though, maybe that’s my next winter fashion statement. I once tried stuffing seed packets in my socks for insulation (don’t recommend). Ever tried using hand warmers and forgot to open the packet first? Thought I’d invented disappointment.

Trying to keep a sax warm in a tent sounds like a sitcom waiting to happen—maybe it needs its own tiny sleeping bag? Ever tried using hot water bottles as foot warmers and just ended up with squishy socks?
