Beeswax is genius, especially for patching up little holes in boots too. Funny how folks skip over it for flashier gear—simple really does win sometimes.

Old cotton handkerchiefs, hands down. I’d put them above most gadgets in my kit. Sound dull, maybe, but they’re endlessly useful—filters for water if desperate, a makeshift bandage, wrap for herbs, even as a signal if you’ve got a bright one.
