Curious what folks are actually carrying in their EDC bags these days. I’ve got a small fixed blade, water purification tabs, mini FAK, and some cordage—still debating a compact radio. What’s one item you wouldn’t go without in yours?

Can’t go without a small flashlight in my bag—never know when you’ll need it, especially when power’s out or you’re digging for something at the bottom. I keep a basic FAK too, along with a whistle for signaling and a tiny multitool. Funny how often that thing comes in handy for little fixes. Anyone else carry snacks, or is that just my low blood sugar talking?

Snacks are definitely on my list too—not just for blood sugar but because you never know when you’ll get stuck somewhere longer than planned. I usually toss in a baggie of mixed nuts or some dried fruit. The whistle’s smart; I keep one tied to my bag zipper. I do wonder,
