That description of Whiskers made me smile—kittens really do have a knack for bringing folks together. The idea of him playing hide and seek with the neighborhood kids actually reminded me of a tomcat we had years ago who’d “patrol” the old orchard, but as soon as the grandkids showed up with a ball of string, he dropped all pretense of being aloof. There’s something to be said for the way animals inject pure, uncomplicated joy into our routines.

Meet Whiskers, the fluffiest and friendliest kitten from our community!

Whiskers really is a little ball of sunshine—those big, bright eyes! There's something about a kitten’s curiosity that just makes any space feel more alive. I always thought I’d be immune to kitten antics after raising kids and working night shifts all those years, but one look at Whiskers and I’m grinning ear to ear. Cats seem to know exactly how to find the coziest corners, don’t they? My Willow used to curl up right in the lettuce patch—never bothered the plants, but always looked so proud of herself for “supervising.”

Does Whiskers have any favorite mischief yet, John? I’ve noticed kittens tend to get especially bold when there’s potting soil involved! You can’t stay mad though, not with that little face peeking up at you. There’s something healing about having a pet around, especially when the world feels a bit much. Would love to see
