What’s In Your Everyday Car Emergency Kit?

With all the stories lately about folks stranded in unexpected places or caught in sudden weather shifts, I’ve been reconsidering what goes into my car emergency kit. Besides the basics—jumper cables, flashlight, bottled water, and a couple of granola bars—I’m wondering what others consider essential for everyday scenarios rather than full TEOTWAWKI setups.

For example, I recently added a compact trauma kit with a tourniquet and Israeli bandage, just in case, and a wool blanket that doubles as a ground cloth. Also keep some cash in small bills, a folding saw, and a few N95 masks (after last year’s wildfires!). I do rotate out my water and snacks every few months and check the batteries.
