Learned this from my teaching days: you've got to plan for snow days. I do a big canning session in the fall; pickles, soups, salsas, you name it.
Canning is indeed a winter lifesaver, BlueHarborTea. It just brings that extra layer of self-sufficiency, doesn't it? I do a similar thing, but with a herbal twist. I'm drying and storing herbs for teas and infusions. It's surprising how much a hot cup of chamomile tea can boost your morale in a snowstorm! Anyone else with a particular go-to for winter preps?
