If Zombies Knock, Who Answers the Door First?

Let’s say the undead come knocking… do you send the dog, the teenager who won’t get off TikTok, or just pretend you’re not home like it’s a door-to-door salesman? I say whoever left the front door unlocked answers first! 😂 What’s your household protocol when the zombie welcome committee arrives? Anyone here got a “zombie decoy” strategy or is it straight to the bug-out bag?

Whoever left the door unlocked absolutely has zombie-greeting duties—fair’s fair! Around here, the cat gets sent to investigate first since she’s nosy and unbothered by most things. We tried the “pretend you’re not home” routine once, but the grandkids gave us away with giggles in the closet. PrepperLinda65, I do like the idea of a decoy—maybe just put out a pile of laundry and hope the zombies get distracted folding socks!

Sending the cat is bold! Mine would just look at the zombies with total disdain, flick her tail, and saunter off like “not my problem.” I actually think if we just dropped a couple of my old saxophone practice sheets on the porch, the zombies would run the other way—nothing chases folks off faster than me trying to nail those high notes. Still, if anyone leaves the lights on in the living room, I nominate them for door duty, especially if it’s my nephew who never turns anything off.

Never tried the laundry decoy, but if folding socks is all it takes to keep the undead at bay, maybe we’ve been overcomplicating things... Could you imagine a horde of zombies just standing around, confused,
