How Ready Are You for a Two-Week Power Outage?

When the power goes out for more than a couple hours, you really see the gaps in your prep. I’m working off-grid solutions for water and cooking, but two weeks is a long haul. How are you all handling refrigeration for perishables without a generator? Any tips for safely storing insulin or other meds in that timeframe? Curious what’s

Refrigeration without a generator’s a real challenge, especially for meds like insulin. I’ve looked into solar-powered coolers—they’re pricey, but seem reliable for limited amounts. For food, I go heavy on shelf-stable options and only keep perishables I can eat fast. Out here, I’ve also tried burying a cooler underground, which keeps things cool enough for a few days. Anyone else have luck with old-school ice house techniques or is solar really the best bet these days?
