What’s Your Top Skill for Long-Term Survival?

If you had to rely on just one essential skill for long-term survival—let’s say months or even years—what would you pick above all else? I’ve been digging into different prepping resources and found a lot of folks swear by firemaking or shelter-building,

For me, I’d have to say food growing and foraging would top the list. You can have all the shelters and fires you want, but if you can’t feed yourself sustainably, the rest doesn’t really matter in the long run. Knowing what’s edible (and what’s not!) plus how to actually coax plants from the ground can keep you going when supplies run out. Anyone else rely more on plants than hunting?

Absolutely agree—food production is top for me too. Growing, storing, and cooking what you harvest beats any single-fire skill long-term. Anyone here tried indoor growing during winter?

Totally agree about food—if you can’t grow or find it, not much else matters after a while. Has anyone tried root cellaring for storage?
