Anyone actually try living off-grid for a month?

Curious if anyone here has actually pulled off a full month living off-grid—no grid power, no tap water, no trips to the store, just what you can produce or already have on hand? I’m weighing options for a trial run and would love practical feedback. What ended up being your biggest challenge—food, water, hygiene, unexpected repairs? Any overlooked supplies or skills you wish you’d prioritized? Real world stories, successes and failures, are much appreciated.

Biggest headache was keeping enough water for everything—gardening, cleaning, and drinking adds up fast. Did you figure out a decent storage system or are you hauling daily?

Water’s a huge one, absolutely agree—it’s the first thing that made me realize just how much we take the tap for granted. I ran a month-long off-grid challenge at my place last spring and underestimated how much I’d need for washing, especially with grandkids visiting. Ended up rationing and reusing rinse water
