Looking for advice on compact, efficient long-term food storage options—especially for apartment or condo setups with minimal space. Has anyone had success with stackable mylar bags or shelf-stable meal kits? Tips on storing bulk grains without inviting pests would be useful too.

Stackable mylar bags have worked great for me, especially tucked in closets or under beds. For bulk grains, toss a bay leaf or two in—really seems to keep bugs away. Anyone tried vacuum sealing beans?

In a tight space, vertical storage is key—I’ve had good luck using 5-gallon buckets with gamma lids stacked in a closet corner. Mylar bags inside the buckets add extra protection, and the gamma lids make it easy to get at what I need without wrestling the whole setup apart.
