Best Long-Term Food Storage Options for Small Spaces?

Anyone got tips on long-term food storage that actually works for folks with limited space? Looking for compact solutions—thinking Mylar bags, stackable buckets, maybe even freeze-dried meals—but not sure what gives the best shelf life per cubic foot. What’s been working in your setups?

Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers are my go-to—stack flat, last forever, and you can portion stuff out easy. Ever tried vacuum sealing instead? Curious if it’s better for tight spaces.

Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers really do make the most of tight spaces—I slide them behind furniture or into drawers sometimes. Stackable buckets are solid if you’ve got vertical room, but they’re trickier to tuck away. Freeze-dried meals save a ton of space and last long, though they can get pricey fast. Anybody here stashing stuff in those under-bed containers? Feels like wasted space otherwise.
