Best Long-Term Food Storage Options for Small Spaces?
Space is always the limiting factor when it comes to keeping a decent food supply. I’ve managed to squeeze quite a bit into my small pantry using mylar bags with O2 absorbers, but I’m wondering if there’s a better solution for certain staples. Has anyone tried stacking #10 cans or going with vacuum-sealed mason jars for things like rice, beans, and flours? I’m also considering dehydrated foods, but not sure about shelf life in a closet with fluctuating temps.
For those of you in apartments or with tiny basements, how do you maximize your storage and keep things rodent/moisture safe? Any tricks for keeping canned goods organized in tight corners or under beds? I sometimes worry about temperature swings affecting my canned veggies and jams.
