What are your most reliable low-budget prepping hacks? I’ve tried DIY solar lanterns and repurposing food-grade buckets, but always looking for more ideas that truly hold up over time. Any unconventional tricks that have actually worked for you?

Keeping old sheets and towels instead of tossing them has saved me a bundle. They work for everything from makeshift bandages to water filtration layers or insulation in a pinch. I also save every glass jar—great for food storage, sprouting seeds, or even little oil lamps with a bit of cotton and some veggie oil. Anyone else use those jars for stuff besides food?
