Been thinking about swapping out the ol' multi-tool in my bug-out bag. Currently got a Leatherman Wave, but after a few years of faithful service, it's showing the wear 'n tear. Wondering what y'all have tucked in your bags that you swear by.

I'm interested particularly in something compact but robust, got to handle a decent workload

Swapped my trusty Leatherman for a Gerber Dime a while back. Packs a punch for such a compact piece. Reckon it might fit your bill - robust, pretty compact, and does a bang-up job. D'you think you'd consider something this size?

Always had a soft spot for the Leatherman Wave, but, you're right, AquaFern1028 - they do show their age after a while. Ever given the Victorinox SwissTool a go? Might be what you're looking for.
