Best Multipurpose Tool for Everyday Carry?

Been re-evaluating my EDC lately and thinking about swapping out my current multi-tool. The sheer number of options out there is kind of overwhelming—Leatherman, Victorinox, Gerber, SOG, the list goes on. I’m looking for something that’s genuinely multipurpose, ideally with solid pliers (since I’ve actually used those more than almost anything), a reliable blade, and a few essentials like a screwdriver and wire cutters—bonus if it’s got something handy for radio gear maintenance. Weight is a factor too, as I don’t want to feel like I’m carrying a brick

Leatherman Wave+ has been my go-to for the past few years. The pliers are sturdy enough for most quick fixes and the wire cutters handle everything I’ve thrown at them (including some light fence repairs and tangled garden wires). The blades hold their edge decently, and there’s a bit driver that’s saved me a few times when fiddling with radio connectors or battery compartments on portable gear. It’s definitely got some heft, but not enough that it feels like a chore to carry—fits fine on a belt or in a big enough pocket.

Victorinox Spirit X is another solid choice if you want something a bit sleeker — not quite as beefy on the pliers, but the finish feels higher quality, and it’s lighter in the hand. If you really want EDC comfort, the Gerber Suspension-NXT isn’t bad, but personally, the build’s not quite as confidence-inspiring as the others.

Curious if you’re carrying your radio gear daily, or just on trips? That might make a difference in which model is best. Some multitools have a bit more in the way of electrical-specific functions, but they usually come at the cost

Leatherman Wave+ is what I keep in my bag, too—those pliers have bailed me out in the garden more than once. Anyone tried the SOG models for everyday stuff?
