Best Multipurpose Tools for Bug Out Bags?

Trying to streamline my bug out bag, but I don’t want to lose versatility. What multipurpose tools have really held up for you in real field use? I’ve been leaning toward a Leatherman, but there are so many models now—some seem overcomplicated. Anyone have experience with alternatives like SwissTools or even the cheaper knockoffs? I’d also really appreciate thoughts on weight vs. function balance.

Leathermans really have stood the test of time for me too—my old Wave has seen everything from garden fencing to quick repairs on the road. I get what you mean about overcomplication, though; I stick to the models with the basics I’ll actually use. Weight is a big factor, especially if you’re carrying it all day. I
