Best ways to store water long-term without chemicals?

Looking for practical tips on storing water long-term without using bleach or other chemicals. Has anyone tried ceramic or stainless steel containers, and did you notice any taste or safety issues over time? Curious what’s worked best for you—gravity filters, boiling before storage, or something else?

Stainless steel worked well for me—no taste issues even after several months. I always pre-boil and cool the water first. Has anyone tried glass for long-term storage?

Been using glass carboys in a cool basement for years—no weird taste, no mold issues. Anybody had a glass container break from temp changes though? That’s my only worry.
