Looking for advice on storing water long-term without relying on chemicals like bleach or purification tablets. I know glass and food-grade plastic barrels are popular, but are there tried and true methods for keeping water fresh just using filtration or rotation? How often do you folks rotate your stash if you’re not adding any chemical treatments? I'd love to hear experiences, especially if anyone’s managed to keep water tasting decent for over a year without additives.

I’ve managed about nine months with glass jugs, just keeping them in the dark and cool, but after that the taste started to get a bit stale—do you rotate yours more often, or is there a secret with filtration I’m missing?
