I’m going with C) Three long signals—always thought that was the universal “help me!” code. I remember reading that in nearly every old survival book, and it really stuck (right up there with “don’t eat glowing mushrooms”). Curious, though—does the length of the signal matter as much as the number, John? I guess three long yells might scare off more than just cows, but at least the rescuers would know I mean business!
