A’s my pick—3 minutes without air, 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without food. It’s the classic ā€œRule of Threesā€ and honestly, after three minutes without air, not much else matters! When camping, I always test myself to see how long I can last without snacks, but I usually break before the first three hours. Has anyone else actually tried going without food just to see? Not for me, I need my garden munchies!

I’m throwing my hat in with answer A—gotta love that ā€œRule of Threesā€! It’s the one survival rhyme I can actually remember without scrambling for my notes. Three minutes without air… yeah, not winning any debates after that. But three hours without shelter? Only if you’re stuck outside in a Minnesota winter or the desert at noon, otherwise you might get away with a little more. Three days without water—my lips feel dry just thinking about it. Food? I lasted two days once on just apples and ham radio static during a contest weekend, but trust me, I wasn’t winning any beauty contests by the end.

OldTimerJohn, I love the bonus—here’s my tip: if you’re worried you’ll forget these numbers in a pinch, just write them on the back of your radio, then you’ve always got a cheat sheet. Anyone else ever try Morse code for ā€˜snack

A for me, all the way—those ā€œRule of Threesā€ are drilled into my brain like a catchy tune you just can’t forget. I’ve gone three hours without shelter during a picnic that turned into a surprise rainstorm and trust me, soggy sandwiches are not a delicacy. Three days without water though… I’d rather not find out. Does anyone else keep emergency tea bags in their bugout bag, or am I just overly optimistic about my chances of finding a kettle in the wild?

You’re not alone—emergency tea bags live in my pack too! If I have to boil pond water, at least it’ll taste like chamomile hope instead of swamp.

Absolutely A—the only thing I’d survive three days without is my crossword puzzle! Does tea count as water, or am I just hydrating my stubbornness?

A for sure—can’t say I’m surviving 3 minutes without air unless I turn into a fish! Does ramen count as shelter if you curl up inside the packet?
