Federal authorities investigate giant ‘8647’ markings on National Mall

Investigation Underway for Massive '8647' Sign at National Green Space

Enormous numerals reading '8647' mysteriously made an appearance on a popular green space in the nation's capital. This puzzling event has triggered an investigation by federal officials and also triggered accusations of "political violence" from the presidential residence.

A representative from the Department of the Interior branded the event as "demented" defacement that "will not be taken lightly."

"The Department takes any peril towards the President very gravely, and our Park Police will look into this incident and bring the culprits to justice," said the representative.

Investigation in Progress

Park Police have confirmed that they attended the scene in the morning and an inquiry is in progress.

"The reason for the discoloration is still unknown," stated the office. "Samples of the grass have been gathered for examination. The investigation continues."

The mysterious number sequence is a focal point in a legal case against a previous FBI Director. He was indicted in April after it was claimed he threatened the life of the President by arranging seashells to show "8647" in a photo on a popular social media platform last year. The President is the 45th and 47th president.

Controversial Social Media Post

The former FBI Director, who removed the post within a few hours of its publication, later stated that he was unaware that his post would be seen as a violent message.

"I didn't understand that some people link those numbers to violence," he wrote on the same social media platform. "It never crossed my mind, but I am against any form of violence so I removed the post."

In a video following his indictment, he claimed his innocence against the charges. His legal team argues that the case should be dismissed due to malicious and selective prosecution.

Common Restaurant Lingo

The phrase "86 it" is a common term in the restaurant industry used when an item has run out and needs to be removed from the menu, according to food service workers.

In response to the incident at the green space, a spokesperson for the presidential residence stated, "Anybody who participates in or supports political violence or assassination culture must be denounced in the strongest possible terms. They should also immediately seek mental health treatment for their severe and inhibiting case of mental illness that has twisted their minds and made them mentally unwell."

The Attorney's Office for the District, which would have authority over any potential case resulting from this event, chose not to comment.

Is '8647' a Threat?

In a separate case this month, a federal judge ruled that "8647" on its own does not constitute a threat. The judge stated that a protest flag displaying these numbers outside a federal courthouse on land managed by the Park Service did not need to be removed as it was considered free speech.
